Barbara J. Aufenberg January 24, 1931 - March 13, 2017Barbara J. Aufenberg, 86, of Bedford, passed away on Monday, March 13, 2017, at Mitchell Manor.Born January 24, 1931, in Casey, Illinois, she was the daughter of Lester and Lois (Ritchison) Hughes.She married Ed Aufenberg in 1947; he preceded her in death in 1982.She retired from GM Fisher Guideline in Anderson, Indiana.Surviving are one daughter, Melissa (David) Rhum, of Muncie, Indiana; one granddaughter, Carrie (Bradley) Rhum, of Muncie, Indiana; great-grandchildren, Kennadi and Katie; one brother, Don Hughes, of Mitchell, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Betty Brown and Virginia Basinger; and one brother, Gordon Hughes.Funeral service will be on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. at the Ferguson-Lee Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes, with Pastor Phil Thorne officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery.Visitation will be from 10:00 until the service hour at the funeral chapel.
