Darvel M. Hillenburg, 96, of Mitchell, went home to be with the Lord at 8:21 a.m. Wednesday, January 9, 2013, at St. Vincent Dunn Hospital, Bedford, with her loving family by her side.Born August 10, 1916, in Monroe Co., IN, she was the daughter of Carl Kelly and Goldie Chambers Kelly.She married Joe Hillenburg on February 18, 1933; he died in June, 1987.She was a homemaker and a Christian her whole life. She attended Fairview Church of Christ and had earlier attended Bryantsville Church of Christ. She loved to make quilts, play bingo and just loved being with her family and friends.Surviving are her three sons, Garris Sue Hillenburg, Bedford; Bob Brenda Hillenburg, Heltonville and Frank Sherry Hillenburg, Mitchell; one daughter, Loretta Gene King, Mitchell; 19 grandchildren; 42 great grandchildren; and several great great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Charles; two daughters, Peggy and Patty; two grandsons, Heath King and David Hillenburg; and one sister, Doris Kelly.Funeral service will be on Saturday, January 12, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home, Bedford, with Pastor Richard Holt and Tim Day officiating. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Cemetery.Friends may call on Friday, 4:00-9:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the service, at the funeral home.
