August 31, 1915 - December 14, 2010Hazel "Gene" Cropp, age 95, of Bedford, formerly of Shoals, died on Tuesday, December 14, 2010, at 4:00 a.m. at Garden Villa in Bedford, IN. She was born on August 31, 1915 in Martin County, Indiana, to Grover and Grace Hickman Hawkins. She married Darrell W. Cropp on June 27, 1936 in Mitchell, Indiana; and he preceded her in death on July 3, 1987. She was a graduate of Shoals High School, Class of 1933. She was a homemaker. She attended Shoals United Methodist Church, Shoals, IN. She was a member of Eastern Star; Women's Study Club in Shoals; Homemakers Club in Shoals; Garden Club in Shoals; D.A.R.; United Methodist Women; and Tri-Kappa in Martin Co., IN. She is survived by two daughters, Judith Donald R. Johnson of Bedford; Ardis Stanley Asbell of Henderson, NV; six grandchildren: Greg Marcy Johnson, Kansas City, MO; Jim Susan Johnson, Bedford; Brent Dezarae Johnson, Vincennes; Dean Asbell, Albuquerque, NM; Randy Denise Asbell, Las Vegas, NV; Andrea Gary King, Henderson, NV; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Clyde Helen Hawkins, Shoals; one sister-in-law, Lydian Hawkins, Shoals; several nieces, nephews and cousins.She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; four brothers: Charles, John, Hubert and Bob Hawkins; three sisters: Mildred Beaver, Wanda Stiles and Lucille Jarboe.Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 18, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at Queen-Lee Funeral Home, Shoals, IN, with Pastor Delbert Stoll officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery, Shoals, IN. Friends may call on Friday, 4 - 8 p.m. at Queen-Lee Funeral Home.
