Feb. 5, 1941 - March 15, 2011Patrick D. Henderson, 70, of Heltonville, died at 1:20 p.m. Tuesday at St. Vincent Dunn Hospital.He was born Feb. 5, 1941, in Lawrence County, the son of Patrick and Evelyn Edington Henderson. He married Deloris Russell on June 11, 1966, and she preceded him in death on Feb. 16, 2008.He was a stone quarry workers and gateman at the Lawrence County Landfill.He was a U.S. Army veteran having served in the Korean War.Survivors include three sons, Patrick D. Henderson of Bloomington and Charles A. Henderson and Marcus D. Henderson, both of Heltonville; one daughter, Judy Ann Blake of Bedford; nine grandchildren, Brandon and Blaire Henderson of Mitchell, Heather, Jessica and Jarred Henderson of Freedom, Brittany, Marcus and Danielle Blake of Bedford, and Cheyanne Henderson of Bedford; one great-grandson, Jacob Henderson of Freedom; one sister, Carol Hutchinson of Heltonville; two brothers, Gary Henderson of Indianapolis, and Michael Henderson of Mitchell; and several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; three brothers, Charles, Donald and Jerry Henderson, and one sister, Dorothy Deckard.Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home in Bedford. Burial will be in Gilgal Cemetery in Heltonville with military graveside rites by the American Legion Gillen Post No. 33.Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
