Andrew L. Haungs, 89, of Chicago, IL, formerly of Bedford, died Saturday, May 31, 2014, in Park Ridge, IL. Born August 8, 1924, in Bedford, he was the son of Lawrence and Mary Schmidt Haungs.He was married to Theresa Howley Haungs for 51 wonderful years.He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Bedford, and had been an active Catholic in many Chicago area parishes. He was a stone planerman having worked in Bedford, Bloomington, and Chicago, IL. He was veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, WWII and was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.Surviving are his wife, Theresa Haungs; two sons, Mike and John Patricia Haungs; grandfather of David, Daniel and Michael Haungs; and dear brother of the late Frances Wagner, Alice Abel, Anna Haungs, Mildred Delpha and Louise Haungs. He was the fond uncle of many.The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 6, 2014, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Bedford, with Fr. Rick Eldred and Deacon Dave Reising officiating. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Bedford.
