Obituary

Carrie Mae Lake, 72, of Bedford, Indiana, passed away on April 18, 2025. She was born on July 20, 1952. Carrie was a beacon of compassion and care throughout her life. She always placed the needs of others before her own. She worked for 30 years at Ford Factory (Visteon), and later devoted herself to caring for her grandchildren.

Carrie loved feeding her family and friends. Her green thumb could be seen in her beautiful flower beds and garden. She also enjoyed collecting Boyd Bears. She loved a great Goodwill find as much as any other. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her family, as she was always ready to care for those in need.

Carrie fought her battle with cancer fiercely and bravely for eight years, before laying down her sword.

She leaves behind her husband of 52-years, Charles Lake; Her children, Son, Brian Scott (Brandi), daughter, Carrie Ann (Jeremiah), and Stepson, Eddie Lake; Grandchildren, Bradley, Evan, Clayton, Ella Mae, Jaxson, Parker, and Brooklyn; Great-grandchildren, Harper, Grayson, Thomas and Maverick; Honorary grandchildren, Ciera, Rylan, Gabby (Children, Carter and Oaklynn), Alexis, Nick, Ginger (Children, Hudson, Brezlin, Kyren), Brandon, and Elizabeth; Sisters, Lisa (Husband, Mike, Children, Killian, Brian, Aleesha, and granddaughter, Ellamay), and Delois; Brother, Howard (Children, Toby and Danielle); and her Father, James Kimmel.

Carrie is reunited after life with her mother, Roscella; her beloved children, Ginger, Jeffrey, Melissa, and Michelle; Granddaughter, Natalie; and Sister, Marilian.

Carrie's life was a testament to the enduring kindness and love she had for her family and friends. Her legacy of caring and compassion will live on through the many lives she touched. She will be greatly missed.
