Denise Kay McAlhaneyJanuary 2, 1963 - May 4, 2020Denise Kay McAlhaney, 57, of Springville, passed away on Monday, May 4, 2020 at IU Health Bloomington Hospital.Born January 2, 1963 in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of Darrel and Delores (Brinson) McAlhaney.She was a graduate of Bedford North Lawrence High School. Denise was a member of Avoca Baptist Church and had attended Crossroads Community Church.She had previously worked at Indiana School for the Deaf, human resource assistant at Life Designs, customer service at Republic Services, a group leader at Stone Belt, and most recently a contractor in human resources at Cook Medical.Surviving are her mother, Delores; one brother, Alan (Judy) McAlhaney; two sisters, Beverly McAlhaney and Pam (Greg) Rainey; nieces, Mindy Rainey and her children, Brayden Evans and Kylee Rainey, and Jennie McAlhaney and her son, Jordan McAlhaney; and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Darrel.A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, May 22, 2020 at the Avoca Baptist section of Bennett Cemetery with Pastor Lee Brown officiating.Memorial contributions may be made to the Indiana School for the Deaf.Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.fergusonlee.com.
