Ethel Juanita Tharp, ae 70, of Shoals, passed away on Sunday, July 1, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. at the Indiana University Health Bedford Hospital. She was born on December 5, 1941 in Martin County, Indiana to the late Wayne and Ilean Potts Tharp.Ms. Tharp retired after 32 years of service from R.C.A., in Bloomington. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and knitting and had completed one gorgeous quilt top, and began working on another, while she was a resident of Westview Nursing Center in Bedford. She attended the Shoals Church of the Nazarene. Survivors include two sisters, Shirley Todd, of Shoals, and Sharon Blake and husband John, of Loogootee; one brother, Gary Tharp, of Shoals; two nieces, Stacey Crowder and husband, John, and Anne Todd, all of Shoals; and two nephews, Jeffrey Roberts of Bloomington, and Jeffrey Crowder, of Shoals. She thought of her nieces and hephews as her own children. One brother and sister-in-law Marvin and Sandra Tharp, have also preceded her in death.
