Smith, 70, of Bedford, passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2020 at Westview Nursing Home and Rehabilitation.Born June 19, 1949 in Monroe County, Indiana she was the daughter of Perry and Leona Martin. She married Ronnie Blackwell in 1965 and he passed in 1974.Ferunda was a homemaker and of Christian faith.Surviving are her daughter, Deanna (Eric) Thomas; three grandchildren, Natasha Noel, LaShona Smith, Erik (Companion, Tiffany and his ex-wife, Shannon McKnight-Thomas); 11 great-grandchildren, Makina Thomas, Justice Thomas, Jayden Thomas, Cayden Thomas, Payten Smith, Samara Smith, Braysen Thomas, Kameron Alender, Lily Thomas, Mila Thomas, Jaxe Thomas; one sister, Rose Moore; as well as several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Bill, Dean, Loniel, and Don Martin; three sisters, Maxine Martin, Kathleen Deckard, and Beulah Martin.A private family graveside will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2020 at Fairview Cemetery with Phil Thorne officiating.Memorial contributions in memory of Ferunda, may be made to St. Judes Childrens Hospital.Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.fergusonlee.com.Arrangements are under the direction of Ferguson-Lee Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes.
