Jeannette I. Dawson, 79, of Bedford, died at 1:54am on August 1, 2021 at her daughters residence. Born November 11, 1940 in Vicksburg, MS, she was the daughter of Allen T. and Mary (Bobbitt) Grover who preceded her in death. She was widowed.Jeannette was a Registered Nurse and had worked at Dunn Memorial Hospital. She retired from the medical department at General Motors. Jeannette graduated high school and attended Nursing School at Vincennes University. She was a member of Carters Creek Christian Church in Orleans. Surviving Jeannette are her children, Laraine Chastain of Bedford, Kathi Bartlett of Bedford, Scott Chastain of Bloomfield, Stephen Chastain of Kentucky, Keith Chastain of Kentucky, and Chris Chastain of Alabama; also several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Private services will be held at Leatherwood Cemetery in Bedford.Memorial contributions may be made to the Lawrence County Cancer Patient Services.Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ferguson-Lee Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes in Bedford.
