Lena Ann (Ross) Woodward, 95, of Bedford, passed away Monday, January 10, 2022, at I. U. Hospice House, Bloomington. She had been a resident of Stone Bridge Health Campus for eight years. She was born March 4, 1926, in Bedford, to John and Mary Rose (DeMarca) Ross. She married Burl George Woodward on April 21, 1943, and he preceded her in death on November 30, 2015.Lena attended Oolitic High School and worked at RCA, Bloomington, for 32 years, retiring in 1986. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, the St. Vincent Altar Society and a volunteer at the St. Vincent Thrift Shop. Surviving Lena are her sons, John (Libby) Woodward of Virginia Beach, Virginia and David (Jane) Woodward of Bedford; seven grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Susie Woodward of Bedford; and several nieces and nephews.Preceding Lena in death were her parents; husband; son, Thomas Woodward; one grandchild; two brothers, Joe and Jim Ross; and six sisters, Angie Eagan, Sophia Markiano, Mary Ruth Capperilla, JoAnn Moscato, Mary Ross and Frances Fish. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 15, 2022, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with Fr. Jegan Peter and Deacon Dave Reising officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. A Rosary will be prayed preceding the Mass at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, also at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. There will be no public visitation.In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial contribution to the St. Vincent Altar Society.To all that knew her, she was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
