Maxine ReedApril 10, 1927 - April 5, 2020Maxine Reed, 92, of Mitchell, passed away at 10:20 A.M. on Sunday, April 5, 2020 at Mitchell Manor.Born April 10, 1927, in Medora, IN, she was the daughter of Murrel and Lillie (Beavers) Phillips.She married Jesse Reed and he preceded her in death in 1993. Maxine was a graduate of Medora High School and a homemaker.Surviving are her grandchildren, Jesse, Mitch, Charles, Sam, Josh, Misty, and Byron; several great-grandchildren; brothers, Rex Phillips, Larry Phillips, Randy Phillips; sisters, Joan Bergan, Sue Dixon, Faye Sowers, and Wanda Brock; and several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jesse; children, Burl and Bruce Reed; and siblings, Ferg Phillips, Betty Milligan, Dean Phillips, and Tab Phillips.A private family graveside service will be held at Proctor (Dixon Chapel) Cemetery.Arrangements are under the direction of the Ferguson-Lee Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes.
