Stephen "Steamer" Stanley, 73, of Bedford, IN, passed away on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at Core Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility. Born on November 10, 1949, he was the son of Milton and Elsie (Klingenmeier) Stanley. He married Connie Spore on May 31, 1975, at White River Baptist Church. Stephen was a heavy equipment operator for B&LS and Peabody Coal. He was a member of the Bedford Baptist Temple and the Equipment Operator Union. He graduated from Bedford High School in 1968 and graduated from Nashville Auto Diesel College. Surviving Stephen is his wife, Connie Stanley of Bedford; daughter, Diana (Jerry) Stanley-Staggs-Fountaine of Bedford; son, Arthur Stanley of Bedford; two stepsons, Jon (Jennifer) MacDonald of Bedford, and Victor (Mikki) MacDonald of Indianapolis; six grandchildren, Christina (Zack) Jacobs, Sarah MacDonald, Cheyenne MacDonald, Brianna Staggs, Arianna Staggs, and Ryker Staggs; one great granddaughter, Shelby Jacobs; and brother, Greg Stanley (Rosemary) of Bedford. Stephen is preceded in death by his parents; brother in infancy; sister, Rose Stanley, in infancy; and grandson, Josiah Peters. Funeral Services will be at 1:00pm on Thursday, May 18, 2023, at the Bedford Baptist Temple with Pastor Lyman Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 4:00pm to 8:00pm on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at the Ferguson-Lee Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes.
