Steven "Steve" Baker, 71, of Springville, passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2024 at I.U. Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. Born in Bedford on January 4, 1953, he was the son of Arthur I. and Carole R. (Flynn) Baker.

Steve was a graduate of Shawswick High School and was currently working at Rural King while enjoying semi-retirement. He had been a Boy Scout and became a Scout Master and enjoyed mentoring young scouts. He enjoyed farming, fishing and camping, and was a member of the Muzzle Loading Rifle Association. He was of the Pentecostal Faith.

Surviving to cherish the memory of Steve are his two sons, Lance Baker and Landon (Tatum) Baker; one daughter, Breanna Baker; four grandchildren, Braden Baker, Lila, Emmy and Chase; along with several nieces and nephews and aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jeff Baker.

Funeral services for Steven "Steve" Baker will be at 12:00noon on Friday, June 21, 2024 at the Ferguson-Lee Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes in Bedford with Bro. Keith Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2024 from 4:00pm-7:00pm and on Friday from 11:00am to the time of the service.
