Steven "Steve" J. Mills, 72, of Bedford, passed away Sunday, March 14, 2021 at his residence. He was born December 3, 1948 in Lawrence County to Cecil and Harriet (Reynolds) Mills. Steve graduated from Bedford High School, class of 1966, Vincennes University and received a bachelors degree from Western Michigan University. Steve was owner/operator of Mills Markets and was a member of the Bedford Boat and Sportsman Club, Moose Lodge and American Legion Gillen Post #33. Surviving Steve are his sons, Joel Mills, Chad Mills and Cory (Chrissy) Mills; four grandchildren, Mariah Mills, Cailey (Kyle) Strait, Katie Mills and Haley Mills; one great-grandson, Tate; one brother, Richard Mills; one nephew, Brad Mills; and one niece, Stephanie (Monte) Meier. Steve was preceded in death by his parents. Services for Steven Mills will be held at the Ferguson-Lee Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes in Bedford on Thursday, March 18, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with Phil Thorne officiating. Burial will follow in Crawford Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 17th from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the Ferguson-Lee Chapel.
