April 25, 1924 - December 20, 2012Viola S. Alhorn, 88, of Bedford, died at 12:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 20, 2012, at Garden Villa, Bedford, IN.Born April 25, 1924 in Bedford, Indiana, she was the daughter of Hjalmar and Ruth Johnson Soder.She married Charles Frank Alhorn, Jr. on October 16, 1948; and he preceded her in death on February 11, 2005.She was a graduate of Bedford High School, with the Class of 1942.She spent many years as office manager at various auto dealerships, including Chase Chevrolet and Pearcy Chevrolet.Viola was a very caring person, who enjoyed cooking and planting flowers; and she dearly loved our family dogs.Surviving are her daughter, Carol Alhorn of Bedford; grandson, Cody Alhorn of Bedford; two brothers, Sogi Alice Soder of Decatur, Georgia, and Gilbert Sue Soder of Indianapolis, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.Funeral service will be on Sunday, December 23, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery.Friends may call on Saturday, 5 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home.Contributions may be made to the White River Humane Society in memory of Viola S. Alhorn.
